Celebrating Australia week at Westwood

We recently celebrated Australia week at Westwood. This had been prompted by a resident expressing a wish to visit Australia and, while not possible for them at the moment, we thought we would bring a taste of Australia to Westwood.

We were lucky to have so many items donated for our display with the most interesting item being a  didgeridoo, needless to say not many of us could hold a tune on it!  We spent time looking at the memorabilia with one resident recalling holiday trips to Australia which prompted much discussion. Lamington cakes were also sampled and we listened to native aboriginal music as well as songs from well known modern day Australian musicians. A ‘bonzer’ time was had by all.
