Westwood poem

Thank you to Janet, a relative and friend of Westwood, for the following poem. We are humbled that she took the time to put pen to paper and send in this wonderful poem, which we would like to share with you all:

WESTWOOD

Come to Westwood
where life is good.
Lovely food – lovely staff
Join in the quiz and have a laugh.
There’s games to play with prizes to be won,
and a little garden to sit in the sun.
Ride out in the minibus to local spots –
don’t forget your sunhat if it gets too hot
Have a biscuit with your drink
then sit back and enjoy forty winks.
Three course meals are very tasty
At tea time you may get a pastry.
Families are welcome any time –
to help or join in is just fine.
It’s a great place to come to
and could be just right for you.

Valentine’s cake baking competition and raffle

We enjoyed our Valentine’s tea party this week, especially sampling all the cakes! Thank you to everyone who attended and also those who supported our raffle. Approximately £100 was raised for the Residents Activity Fund.

Photos show our judge Julia Bass with first place winners in the baking competition – Barbara and Janine, and in the second photo staff member Emma who won second prize. Third place went to staff member Sara and son Aaron. Well done everyone who took part!
